1 Killed and 1 Injured in Southwest Houston Pedestrian Accident on Highway 288
Denton, Texas (February 2, 2018) – A pedestrian was killed in an alleged hit-and-run collision involving a Houston Police officer on Wednesday, January 31.
The fatal pedestrian accident occurred at an unspecified time on Highway 288 in southwest Houston
According to a local news report, a police officer was driving to an assignment at Ben Taub Hospital when she hit a male pedestrian who was running across the freeway.
It is reported that second vehicle also hit the pedestrian before fleeing the scene.
The pedestrian succumbed to his injuries at the scene.
The name of the deceased was not revealed.
The officer was rushed to Memorial Hermann Hospital for treatment of unspecified injuries.
The driver of the second vehicle was yet to be located.
An investigation into the collision is ongoing.
