2 Killed and 3 Injured in Amarillo DUI Car Accident on Interstate 40
Amarillo, Texas (February 8, 2018) – A teenager was arrested for manslaughter following a fatal car accident which occurred in Amarillo on Wednesday morning.
The fatal crash occurred at about 3:30 a.m. February 7, on the eastbound lanes of Interstate 40, according to a local news report.
As per the article, a blue Ford F-250 had been traveling eastbound at a high rate of speed when it rear-ended a Chevrolet van carrying twelve people.
The impact of the collision sent both vehicles off the roadway and down an embankment.
An 11-year-old girl and a 50-year-old man who were riding in the van were killed in the collision.
Three other people were hospitalized with life-threatening injuries.
The 19-year-old driver of the pickup truck, Adam Banbury, was arrested for felony DUI and manslaughter.
No other information was provided.
