2 Killed in McCaulley 2-Car Accident ID’d as Cruz Fernandez-Valles and James Pierce
McCaulley, Texas (January 29, 2018) – The identities of two people who were killed in a traffic accident in McCaulley on Friday morning have been revealed.
The two were identified as James Nathan Pierce, 45, of Haskell, and Cruz Fernandez-Valles, 42, of Munday.
The fatal two-vehicle collision occurred at about 7 a.m. January 26, on FM 57, northwest of Abilene.
According to a local news report, 22-year-old David W. Wilcox Jr., of Hamlin, was traveling northbound in his 2008 Ford Explorer when his vehicle drifted into the southbound lanes and collided head-on with an oncoming Chevrolet pickup truck operated by 51-year-old Jose E. Castorena, a resident of Knox City.
Pierce and Cruz Fernandez-Valles, who were riding in the Chevy, were killed in the collision.
The two drivers sustained serious injuries and were taken to Hendrick Medical Center for treatment.
No other information was available.
An investigation is yet to be concluded.
