Dallas Police Officer Struck and Injured by Vehicle on I-35E

Dallas, Texas (February 5, 2018) – According to a local news report, a Dallas police officer was struck and Injured by a vehicle on Saturday morning, February 3.

The accident occurred on Interstate 35E at about 2:15 a.m.

The officer was reportedly helping a stranded motorist when she was her squad car was hit by a Mercedes SUV. The impact of the collision pushed the squad car into the officer.

The officer sustained minor injuries in the collisions and was taken to Parkland Hospital where she was treated and released.

The 51-year-old male driver of the Mercedes was arrested on suspicion of DUI.

An investigation to establish the cause of the accident is ongoing.
