Flavio Garcia Killed and 1 Injured in Friona Two-Car Collision on US 60
Friona, Texas (February 15, 2018) – A man was killed and another injured in a two-vehicle collision in Friona on Monday morning.
According to a local news source, the accident occurred at about 6 a.m. February 12, on US 60.
Officials of the Texas Department of Public Safety said that a Hyundai Elantra was pulling out of a private driveway when the driver failed to yield to a stop sign as it entered the intersection and was hit by an eastbound semi-truck.
The Hyundai driver, 23-year-old Flavio Garcia, was killed in the collision.
The semi-truck driver, 47-year-old Jimmie, of Clovis, was injured in the collision and was taken to Friona Medical Center for treatment. The extent of his injuries was not disclosed.
An investigation is ongoing.
