Progreso, Texas (February 2, 2018) – One person was killed in a traffic accident in Progreso on Thursday, February 1, according to a local news source.

The fatal traffic accident occurred at about at an unspecified time on the eastbound side of U.S. Military 281.

According to a report by the Texas Department of Public Safety, a car was traveling eastbound when the motorist lost control of the car and collided with a truck.

The passenger of the car, Heliodoro Alejandre Jr., 44, of Santa Rosa, was killed in the collision.

The unidentified driver of the car was injured in the collision and was transported to local hospital for treatment in unknown condition.

The condition of the truck operator was not immediately established.

An investigation into the collision is ongoing.
