Skyler Anderson Killed and Oscar Garcia Injured in Pedestrian Accident on I-20 in Mitchell County
Mitchell County, Texas (February 23, 2018) – One pedestrian was killed and another injured after being struck by a truck in Mitchell County on Tuesday morning.
According to a local news source, the accident occurred at about 7:00 a.m. February 20, on Interstate 20 near Colorado City.
Officials of Texas Department of Public Safety said that 32-year-old Skyler H. Anderson of Gilmer and 65-year-old Oscar A. Garcia of Dallas were standing by the roadside when a passing truck swerved to avoid crashing into a wreckage of a collision that had happened earlier.
The truck left the roadway and struck the two pedestrians.
Anderson was pronounced dead at the scene while Garcia was critically injured and was taken to Lubbock Hospital.
The truck driver, Maxino Chavira-Castillo, 55, was unhurt.
No other information was provided.
The incident remained under investigation.
