1 Injured in Tyler Train Accident at Oakwood Street and Spring Avenue
Tyler, Texas (February 27, 2018) – A woman was injured in a collision involving a car and a Union Pacific Railroad train in Tyler on Sunday, February 25, according to authorities.
The crash occurred at an unspecified time in the afternoon at Oakwood Street and the Spring Avenue railroad crossing.
As per the report, a white passenger car was already in the rail tracks when the railroad crossing arms came down and the car was trapped between the arms. The driver of the car unsuccessfully tried to exit the tracks but was hit by the train before she completed a U-turn.
The female driver sustained minor injuries in the collision. Three juvenile passengers of the car were unhurt.
